Lori Barnes-Laney, Vice-President

Growing up in Europe as part of a military family, Lori was in an environment that fostered learning about and appreciating people’s similarities and differences.  Seeing the world and people as a fascinating, she obtained a BA in Anthropology and then went on to a CA teaching credential and a MA in Psychology Child Development.   For 22 years she has been excited to be part of helping children learn to love learning and to be a positive force in their relationships with others.  Personally, she spent many years looking for the right spiritual home for herself and her two children and feels blessed to have found Unity of Yucaipa.  She feels that Unity is a positive, non-dogmatic, inclusive community of people that offers a proactive spiritual path of self-awareness and connectedness to all things.

Denise Nichols – Secretary

Denise has been involved in the youth programs at Unity since her children were in grade school. Her fondest memories are from numerous regional events with middle schoolers (Uniteens) and High school (YOU’ers). She is our Sunday school teacher with two energetic grandsons often in attendance. In her spare time Denise loves reading and talking about spiritual subjects and has a special love for astrology, which she inherited from her mother.
She also became obsessed with quilting during the pandemic and continues to fund her adventures by substitute teaching special education students in San Bernardino.

Linda was born in Oklahoma, grew up in Texas, and moved to Las Vegas as a teen bride. She has been a “newager” since 1972 and in Unity since 1994 by way of Riverside, Monterey, Phoenix, and Yucaipa.  Linda retired from real estate sales and mortgage banking in 1998.
